[ Her pointer finger is already aimed skyward when the feed cuts in. This is a very important, very pressing matter. She has to speak first! ]

Basilio, do you think you could teach me how to cook?

[ And she aims her pointer at herself with that. She's pretty sure she's asking the impossible, but... ]

A few things!

[ She doesn't mind sharing. She is asking him to risk life and possibly limb, after all. Of course, if he agrees, she's going to try to make sure it doesn't come to that.

First off: ]

I've been thinking about it for a little while now. You're always cooking for everybody and I know you enjoy it. You're really good at it, too. Pretty sure I'm spoiled now, so what happens if you're not around one day and I wanna eat? I can't go back to convenience store food and soulless delivery. I'll starve to death!

You wouldn't want that on your conscience, would you?

[ Ah -- oops! Her expression immediately melts into something resembling sheepish, seeing his ears up and that spooked expression on his face. She didn't mean to scare him. That's certainly not a thought she wants knocking around in his head with any permanence either considering... things. ]

Very dramatic, yeah. Sorry, Bas. 'S not on my list of things to do, promise! I mean, I wanna learn so I'm not outta luck if you're not around, but... I wanna learn how to cook so I can cook for you, too, sometimes!

I think it might be best if we start simple.

[ Maybe keep her focus on the one thing? She's used to working multiple threads of thought simultaneously and does so very well, but with something like this... maybe she should try putting a few on hold?]

After I've got the basics down, let's revisit that question!
