That's highly unlikely. No offense.
[ he'd make a joke about already missing an arm in true terrible deadpan humour, but he can see the basilio is shaken by what happened. unsurprisingly. ]
Anyway, I'm not really here for an apology. I just wanted to check on you and see how you were doing and if you needed any help.

[ soft???? him????
anyway, not important. he's here because . . . well he remembers what alex did to the hybrids. the innocent people. he knows what can be pushed too far. ]
Look, this place. It messes with everyone's head. That's what it does. It's not really a . . . you thing.
It doesn't stop the guilt, but you shouldn't forget it either.

[ This feels like something she should be doing in person. No, it is. She knows it is. She can't look him over thoroughly on the Oracle's screen. 2-D is no good for that, but... that's a bit selfish, isn't it? Laserhawk-san and Fidelio said he was in fine physical condition. It's everything else that's troubling him, and for good reason, and she... she can't be sure of her physical reactions right now, that she might not shake or freeze or forget to breathe or breathe too shallow and rapidly or wince or something that might hurt his feelings.
Her mind knows. She understands what happened, that it wasn't Basilio's fault, but her body remembers. Her mind, too, and she shoves the image of that furious red gaze fixed on her from it resolutely. Steadies herself, her breathing, and sits stark still for all of three seconds before she grabs the phone from the table.
That wasn't Bas and if he wants to see her in-person later or at all, they'll figure something out. Right now, she wants to see him, talk with him because she knows he's feeling terrible about things. She can only imagine how. That he thought -- right. Wrong, right. Right now, this is the best option, so she sinks her finger into the appropriate button to send the call.
It's his choice whether or not to answer it; though, if he does, he'll be treated to the sight of the ceiling at first because Nao hastily put the phone down face-up on the table beside her. She stares at it. Is he going to pick up or...? ]

[ Nao perks at the sound of Basilio's voice and shifts in the blankets she's been all but living in today. She doesn't quite climb out of it. It's more that she draws herself up enough to lean over the edge of the bed and table and peer down at the camera.
She's the top of her head and a pair of amber eyes rising on the screen and stopping suddenly, almost as though she's peeking. (She's peeking.) ]
Looks like it's workin' fine t'me.
[ This is not what she intended to say. ]

Yeah, it's me.
[ Nao can't quite help a slightly bigger than little laugh as she speaks. Okay. Maybe two or three little laughs, too. She couldn't quite keep them to little snorts once she realized what was happening, especially that headshake, the bedhead.
That's... yeah, the Bas she knows. ]
Sorry. Did I wake you?

[ The many, usual variations of, "I'm fine," sit locked and loaded on the tip of Nao's tongue, but she doesn't pull the trigger, doesn't fire where she normally would without a second thought. ]
I'm working on it.
[ She does take the opportunity to waggle the fingers of both hands at him as if to say, "See? Both!" She's not going to lift her left sleeve, though. ]
The people at the Healer's Conclave did a pretty good job. What about you?
